For the past year, 23-year-old Ricardo Garcia, a member of Royal Riches Car Club in Orange County, California, has been on a mission. The original owner of this 2004 Nissan Armada when it was stock was Ricardo’s uncle, Samuel Garcia. Then tragedy struck.
“He was like my dad. He passed away and I took over the truck and decided to build the best truck in Orange County in memory of him,” Garcia says. “He loved to see customized cars and that’s what motivated me to start building ‘Royal Wine,’ as I call [the Armada].”
Armed with the desire to do his uncle proud, Garcia put all of his spare time and money into the then stock gray Armada.
“It took me a lot of long hours working on my truck to get it looking sharp,” Garcia notes. “And I owe special thanks to my club members in Royal Riches and all the other clubs that supported us, like Swift and Nokturnal.
“Also special thanks to the shops, and to Creative Motorsports and Pro Auto Sound for giving me such good prices on rims and my audio and video,” he adds.
It’s clear that Garcia’s mission was successful because Royal Wine has already taken trophies for Best Single Paint at the California Truck Jam in Irvine, California, as well as trophies at many other local shows.
“I’m not done yet,” he says. “We are redoing the interior, seats and system, plus adding a supercharger and engine dress ups soon. Samuel Garcia was a true baller and I dedicate this truck to him. Wherever he is in Heaven, I know he’s loving it. Rest in peace, big homie. Puro Colima!
