Back in 1988, Cheryl Mendoza was only 18 years old. No one then (least of all Cheryl) would have imagined that 19 years later, Rollerz Only Car Club (founded that same year by Troy and George Staehler, and today boasting more than 1,500 active members in 39 chapters across three continents) would have a female president of its Orange County-Inland Empire chapter. However, such is the skill, will and determination of this remarkable woman.
Rollerz Only rolls deep at every DUB Car Show and Concert stop, displaying some of the sickest creations around including luxury SUVs, trucks and other domestic and European luxury big bodies—all rollin’ on dubs! One of the first Rollerz Only-L.A. members, Mendoza had already been rolling in her own car—and winning trophies—for three years when she joined.
“It was hard back then for women in car clubs to get respect, but I wanted to prove to the men that I could do it,” Mendoza says. “I’ve always had the strength to be independent.”
Since that time, Mendoza has gained the respect and recognition of the men in her club (and other clubs) with several award-winning vehicles. The list includes a ’79 Chevy Monte Carlo, ’86 Lincoln Town Car, ’05 Dodge Magnum, ’05 Chrysler 300C, ’06 Hummer H3, ’04 BMW 745, ’07 Bentley Continental GT coupe, ’93 Harley-Davidson and a Cadillac Escalade ESV called “Blue Diamond” that has won First Place and Best of Show honors at several national events.
In addition to her presidential duties with Rollerz Only, Mendoza has also put on numerous car shows and picnics through the years (where such artists as Slow Pain and L.S.O.B first appeared), earning her the title “Queen of Car Shows.” Her latest event was a Car Show and Toy Drive last December in Corona.
Mendoza has opened many doors for females in the custom car scene, but she hasn’t stopped there. She is also the CEO of Diamond Group Enterprises, which includes Diamond Funding, Platinum Realty Group, Diamond Motorsports, Pimp-N-It Auto and, most recently, Diamond Entertainment, which just dropped its first CD, I Got Your Back by Doll-E Girl and Mister One on the XXX Records label, with cuts featuring Baby Bash, Roscoe, Slow Pain and Fingazz. The single “Do It Daddy” is already getting considerable play on the West Coast and is moving up the charts fast.

CHAPTER: ORANGE COUNTY/INLAND EMPIRE
How long have you been into custom vehicles?
Since I was 13 years of age, when I had a lowrider bicycle. I got my first car, a ’68 Chevy, from my dad, who was known as “The Chevy Man” in Las Vegas.
What other vehicles have you owned in the past?
Everything that there is. I’ve owned it all from Chevys to BMWs to SUVs and now even a Bentley coupe. I’m also building a ’62 for Lowrider of the Year.
Have you been a member of the club since it was founded?
Yes, actually a year later.
How many members does your chapter have?
My chapter has 45 members and growing.
Are you looking for new members or new chapters?
We’re always looking to better ourselves.
What qualities should a prospective member have?
BALLERISM! They have to have a great attitude, deep pockets, fame and an outstanding, outgoing, wonderful attitude. You don’t have to be rich if you have a great attitude… Someone who knows how to roll like a family.
