Tampa Bay's Juran Bolden

Written by Joe Greeves

The 2006 BMW 650i is also equipped with a Strut package, AC Schnitzer chin spoiler and rear wing. The Bimmer, with its elegant medium gray color (called Stratus) and 22-inch GFG Trento 7 wheels with Hankook Ventus S1 evo 265/30R22 front and 295/25R22 tires, is the perfect ride for an evening on the town. Although sounds are always important, Juran told us he no longer goes overboard on car stereos since factory systems are so well thought out. You will find lots of cool jazz coming out of this stereo. “‘If I want to hear something loud, I get in my ‘old skool,’” he explained.

He was referring to his 1970 Chevy Chevelle, which was found in a field and restored to “like new” condition by his good friend, Jerry Mills. The car is one of Juran’s all-time favorites, now painted Stratus (to match the BMW) and rolling on 24-inch C.R.E.A.M. wheels by MHT and Toyo Proxes 4 275/30R24 tires. There is a hot 350 small-block V8 under the hood, but a 454 is in the works. “I’m not trying to race anybody,” he explained. “This is more a show car than a high-performance car.” The multi-speaker stereo typically plays everything from oldies and early rap to Al Green and classic R&B. Old skool is the perfect choice for a top down cruise on one of Tampa’s warm summer nights.

“Now, if I will really want to get loud…,” Juran told us with a smile, “I get on my bike.” Painted Plum Red with work by Diablo Chop Shop (Orlando, Florida) the bike runs an S&S motor, and it’s genuinely fast. His affection for sweet rides has grown so much over the years that Juran is considering getting into that business as a sideline.

Besides cars, Juran also collects Air Force 1 kicks and told us he has more than 20 pairs in his collection. “They are comfortable, classy and they are me,” Juran said. His brother (who happens to wear the same size) is particularly happy when some new kicks arrive in the collection. Designer boots and True Religion jeans are also a regular part of Juran’s wardrobe.

Although Juran loves playing football, he would love to pursue an acting career. So, who knows? You might see Juran on the big screen on any given Sunday.
