The 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon was an iconic event that was a true runaway success. Amazing crowds, live entertainment, and the all-encompassing auto-buffet served joyfulness for everyone in attendance. First Look: 2010 Jaguar XF-R

These are images and details for Jaguar's new XF-R model. The car was designed and built to rival the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Audi RS6. The new Jag has a more aggressive looking front end highlighted by a black mesh grille, hood louvres and chromed air intakes. Some other style upgrades found include side sills, a reworked rear fascia and quad tipped exhaust pipes. The engine is a supercharged 5.0L V8 that is a definite step up from the 4.2L V8 that models like the XK-R had. This car has a 0-60mph time of 4.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. The interior has aluminum and mesh accents, R badges as well as custom sport seats. The car is making its debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show that is going on now.

Sony's new mobile audio lineup

Sony is expanding its mobile audio lineup by introducing eight new Xplod in-dash CD receivers. The new units are designed to meet the growing demand for iPod and Bluetooth compatability. The new models stress connectivity and convenience. Four new models are being added to Sony's GT line of car stereo's that feature USB connections for the iPod, iPhone and other USB devices as well as a rear aux-in. Three of Sony's new head units feature Bluetooth technology providing simple hands-free phone calls and audio streaming. The last new unit is a double-din styled head unit that us designed to be compatible with most new model cars and it also features a rear USB-1 wire connection for iPod, iPhone and other digital music players. Most of these units will be available later this month and the rest hit the market next month. They start at a price of $130 and go all the way up to $300.

That's 800 more horsepower than a Bugatti Veyron with 1630 lbs less weight. It applies maximum traction to the tires and progressively adds power with each gear. The NRE Mosler 900 uses dual fuel technology, driving up to 1150 HP on 91 octane and automatically switching fuel systems above 13 PSI of boost which enables over 1800 HP and 1710 ft lbs of torque. It also has cockpit controlled power at a touch of a button from 600 to 1800hp.

Hennessey HPE700 Camaro

Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE), well known for their extreme performance sports cars and muscle cars, announced their Limited Edition 2010 HPE700 Camaro that combines supercar power and performance with American muscle car looks. At the heart of the beast is GM’s new LS9 supercharged V8 tweaked as only HPE could to 705 horsepower and 717 lb-ft torque. With optional 15-inch carbon brakes from the stunning new Corvette ZR1, light weight HRE wheels with Michelin PS2 tires and full suspension upgrades the HPE700 Camaro will be able to make full use of its new found power. In addition to the power and handling upgrades, Hennessey will also be offering an exterior aerodynamics package to improve downforce at high speed. Penned by British designer, Steve Everitt, Hennessey’s Cam-Aero body upgrades include: Carbon fiber rear lip spoiler, carbon fiber side rocker panels, carbon fiber front splitter, front fascia with hideaway-look headlights and front billet grille. Completing the look of the HPE700 is a ZR1 inspired hood design with window showing off the Hennessey’s tweaked LS9 powerplant. HPE700 buyers will also receive a one-day performance-driving course at Lonestar Motorsports Park – a ¼ mile dragstrip facility located adjacent to Hennessey’s 24,000 square foot production facility and showroom. Hennessey is offering the first HPE700 Camaros exclusively to registered bidders at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ. Base price for the 2010 HPE700 Camaro is $109,500.
