The new Mercedes Benz E-Class will make its debut next week ahead of its scheduled appearance at the Geneva Auto Salon in March. In this challenging economic car market, the luxury automaker is hoping to get a jump on sales of the mid-range luxury sedan. Overall auto sales in North America and Europe have dropped over 30% since the third quarter of 2008. Sales for the E-class were down 23% worldwide through November of 2008 compared to the totals through 2007. The new model features some new innovations including a lane-departure warning, a sign recognition system as well as a more aggressive look. The car will officially hit the market in Europe in March.
