Is there life after a reality TV shows you ask? There sure is… just ask the five show-stopping hotties from Danity Kane who proved to non-believers that they are more than just your average novelty act and are in this business for the long-term.
After surviving MTV’s smash reality series “Making the Band 3” and Bad Boy mogul Diddy, the show’s toughest and worthiest girls—Dawn Richard, Aubrey O’Day, Wanita “D. Woods” Woodgette, Shannon Bex and Aundrea Fimbres—are more than ready to show the world that they can ride with the big boys.
“It’s crazy how fast everything has gone,” Shannon said. “The whole process has gone by faster than a blink of the eye.” From the time they were crowned the winners of the show, the quintet went straight to the studio and released their self-titled debut album in August 2006, beating out the likes of heavy hitters like Christina Aguilera and Outkast their first week out.
Their first single, “Show Stopper,” proved to be a banging hit, and they even hit the road with Christina Aguilera this spring. “The best part of this whole experience is performing in front of fans,” Aundrea said. “But it’s tough being away from our families.”
In compensation to being away from their friends and family, the girls have naturally taken to each other like sisters. “We all wanted to be in the group together,” Aubrey said. “When we were asked who we would pick for our group, we strangely all chose each other. It was like fate that we are here.”
But, just like sisters, no family can be complete without a few quarrels here and there.
